Core Value #1 — Scripture & the Holy Spirit

Teach sound doctrine & allow for the demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit.

In 2 Timothy 2:15 it says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Sound doctrine is essential to the growth of the body of Christ. In order to have sound doctrine we must be diligent students of the Word of God.

In John 8:31-32 Jesus says, “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

We must allow the Holy Spirit to teach us from the Word of God. When we continue diligently in the Scriptures we will know the truth and live a life of freedom.

In 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 it says, “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”

The Spirit of God quickens and brings freedom to our hearts; we need the power of the Holy Spirit at work in the church. When you have a balance of God’s Word and the Holy Spirit in the church, then the body of Christ will mature and begin to fulfill God’s call.
