An Everlasting Hope

Over the past week the Lord has been speaking to me about keeping my mind set on Him and not on the problems in the world. During these times there is a lot of evil and wickedness in the world and It’s easy to get our eyes off Jesus and begin to focus on the problems. But the Word of God tells us to keep our mind on the eternal things of God, not on our temporal circumstances. Colossians 3:1-2 AMP says, “If then you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth” It is important for us to consistently check our hearts to make sure they are set on God and His Word. When we keep our mind set on God, that is evidence that we trust Him. Isaiah 26:3 NASB says, “The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You.” Anytime we are not experiencing peace in our heart that means our mind has begun to focus on the problems and not on God. When our mind is set on God we will experience His peace that passes all understanding. We will experience the same peace that enabled Jesus to be sound asleep on a boat in the middle of a storm. Then the world will begin to notice that we posses a supernatural peace in the midst of difficult times, on the other hand the hearts of non-believers in the world will begin to fail them for fear for looking at the things coming upon the earth (Luke 21:26). The world and the systems of the world will be shaken until that which cannot be shaken remains, that is the kingdom of God (Hebrews 12:26-28). In Luke 21:28 KJV it says, “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” As the world becomes darker, our path will become brighter. In Proverbs 4:18 NKJV it says, “But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.” As believers in Christ we have hope for a new heaven and a new earth. We have hope to experience eternal life in kingdom of God. We have an everlasting hope that the world needs to hear about and it is up to us to tell them about this hope. The hope that we have is the only hope of the world and that is the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Will you partner with JMMI to share this everlasting hope with a hopeless world?
