HARVEST TIME

In Matthew 8:37-38 KJV Jesus says, “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” There is a harvest that is ready to be harvested into the kingdom of God. The harvest is very great, but we are in need of more labourers to work in the harvest.

I once was told a story about a worker who harvested mango’s for the owner of a field. The harvest season had arrived and the ripe mango’s began to fall from the tree’s. One day the worker brought his young son with him to work and his son was amazed at all the mango’s. There were mango’s in the tree’s and also all over the ground. The son asked his father, “Dad, why are there so many mangos’ all over the ground?” The father replied, “Well son, when the mango’s become very ripe they began to fall from the tree’s and this year we are short on field workers’ to harvest them.” The son replied, “What will happen if they aren't harvested in time?” The father replied, “We will have to throw them out.” The young boy began to cry after hearing his father’s words.

The truth is that many are in need of hearing the gospel, but the workers are few. Many hearts are open and ready to receive the truth of Jesus. In 2 peter 3:9 KJV says, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” In the same way the young boy was sad about the loss of all the mangos’, It is the Heavenly Father's desire for no one to perish and all to believe on Jesus. God wants all of us to experience eternal life and the joy of having a personal relationship with Him.

Would you partner with JMMI in bringing the harvest in for God?
