Psalm 37:30-31 KJV says, The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment. The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
If you were able to keep track of everything you spoke today, would you find wisdom in your words? This scripture says that the mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom. Well that is true, but if you continue to read it says that “The law of God is in his heart”. It is the Word of God in a man’s heart that causes him to speak wisdom.
Jesus said, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”
If we are not speaking wisdom it is because we are not putting the Word of God into our heart. Whatever we allow in abundance into our heart, whether good or evil, will eventually come out of our mouth. That why it is so important to diligently guard what we put into our heart.
In Proverbs 18:21 it says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
Our words determine the quality of life we experience and can also effect our circumstances. If we aren’t experiencing the abundant life the Jesus has provided, then we must change our words. When we change our words and begin to speak the Word of God, we will begin to experience the abundant life Jesus has provided and the blessing of the Lord. On the other hand, we can continue to speak the way we always have and we will continue to get the same results. Albert Einstein said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”.
Proverbs 4:23 KJV says, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
If we want change outwardly, it must begin inwardly. In order to change our life, we must first change what we allow into our heart. We must cutoff the flow of unrighteousness into our heart and begin to receive of the righteous flow of God’s Word and Spirit. When we change what we allow into our heart then we will begin to speak differently. When we begin to speak the Word of God and what God says about us and our circumstances, then we will see power and victory in our life.
1 John 5:4-5 KJV says, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”
