Romans 8:24-25 KJV says, "For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it." Hope is a part of the salvation process. We have to hope in order to operate in faith, because "Faith is the confidence of things hoped for". If we never hope, we will never have faith for the things God wants us to have and walk in.
Hope invisions the plan and promises of God coming to pass in the natural realm. We hope for the things we don't presently see with our physical eyes. When we hope we have to look beyond our present circumstances and see with our heart what God has spoken to us. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 KJV says, "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."
How do you look at something that cannot be seen? You have to see it with the eyes of your heart, not the eyes in your head. Again, "if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it." Hope enables us to see in our heart what can't be seen with our eyes. When everything around you seems to be falling to pieces, there is always hope for a brighter future. Hebrews 12:2 KJV says, "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
Proverbs 4:26 KJV says, "Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established."
Hope is the ability to invision the future God has for you. Jeremiah 29:11 KJV says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." God has good plans for our life, but do we know these plans and can we see these plans with our heart coming to pass. Salvation will not just automatically come to pass in our lives. We have to cooperate with God and use what he has given to use to see it manifest in our lives.
Salvation is not only the entrance into the kingdom of God, it is also a continual process that we go through in this life recieving health, blessing, prosperity, revelation, etc. God desires for us to recieve everything that He has provided by grace. In order to do that, we have to use the tools He has provided; faith, hope, etc. 3 John 1:2 KJV says, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."
